On-Page SEO checklist that makes your website search engine friendly by optimizing both the content and HTML source code of a page.
Here is an On-Page SEO checklist you can use to make sure you are doing everything possible to stand with a good position in search engine.
Placement of Keywords:
- Use the keyword in the title. (use it in first)
- Use the keyword in the permalink.
- Keyword in the first paragraph or first 100-150 words of your article.
- Use the keyword in the image alt tag.
- Use LSI keywords in the body (use LSIKeywords or SEOPressor plugin for WordPress to find related keywords).
- Use LSI keyword in body header tags H2 or H3.
- Shoot for around a 1.5% keyword density.
- Make Bold keyword(s) at least once on your page.

Important things to focus on:
- Title tags should be between 50-60 characters in length.
- Create a meta description of less-than 320 characters.
- Use the post title by H1.
- Use long tail keywords.
- Make URLs or permalink short and clear.
- Remove all stop words from permalink. (stop word can be like- A, And, But, So, On, Or, The, Was, With.)
- Add multimedia (Like video, slides, infographics).
- Using actions words in your title. (like- Get, Take, Boost, best, guide, checklist, fast, review, Learn, Make, Go)
- Making posts with a minimum of 1000 words.
- Optimize images before uploading (compress and images resize by image compressor if you are in WordPress use ShortPixel Image Optimizer).
- Optimize page load speed. (Minify CSS, Minify JavaScript, Minify HTML, Reduce redirects, Remove render-blocking JavaScript, Use a content distribution network (CDN), Leverage browser caching.)
- Create internal links to related articles inside your post.
- Outbound links to relevant high-quality sites.
- If writing in an evergreen niche, remove dates from the posts.
Other things Add:
- Make sure to add an image for Facebook, Twitter, etc.(Open Graph Meta Tags)
- Make sure to have social sharing buttons on your post.
- Add related posts after each post to decrease bounce rate.
- At the end of the blog post, ask users to take action.
Things to Avoid:
- Don’t use more than one H1 tag.
- Don’t repeat the same H2 and H3 tag.
- Don’t stuff keywords.
